Getting started

4 questions

What is Krida Studio?
A browser-based studio for making playable 2D games from a prompt or a blank project. Type an idea, tweak the result, hit play — no engine install, no project setup.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Krida runs in the browser. Open a project, edit, and play without downloading an editor or runtime.
How do I make my first game?
Create a free account, open the Studio, and start with a prompt (or a blank scene). You can refine sprites, behavior, and levels, then play a build in one click.
What kinds of games can I build?
2D games are the focus — platformers, arcade, puzzle, top-down, and lightweight hybrids. The templates and prompt flow are tuned for short, shareable sessions.

Building in Studio

4 questions

Can I edit what the AI generates?
Yes. Everything the generator produces is a normal project you can open, restructure, and refine — scenes, sprites, logic, and UI.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Most creators stay in the visual flow. If you want to go deeper, you can add custom logic when you’re ready — optional, not required.
Can I import my own art and audio?
Yes on paid plans. Drop in sprites, tilesets, and sounds, then wire them into scenes the same way generated assets work.
Is there version history?
Projects keep checkpoints as you work so you can roll back a bad change. Paid plans add longer history and named saves.

Publishing & ownership

4 questions

Who owns the games I make?
You do. On Free you can share plays of your work; on Pro and Studio you can publish commercially and remove Krida branding.
Can I export my game?
Export targets ship on Pro and Studio (web build first; more formats on the roadmap). Free keeps play-and-share links inside Krida.
How do sharing and play links work?
Every build gets a link you can send to playtesters. You control whether a project stays private, unlisted, or public.
Can I put a game on my own domain?
Yes with a custom domain on Pro and Studio. Point DNS at Krida and the build serves there with HTTPS handled for you.

Pricing & billing

5 questions

Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free covers account creation, a monthly build allowance, and sharing. Upgrade when you need higher limits, exports, or teams.
Can I try Pro without paying?
New accounts get a 7-day Pro trial — no card required. If you don’t upgrade, you drop to Free and keep your projects.
Do yearly plans bill upfront?
Yes — yearly is billed once per year at a 20% discount versus monthly. Cancel anytime; you keep access through the paid period.
What happens when I hit the free generation limit?
You can still edit, play, and share everything you’ve already made. New generations pause until the next month or until you upgrade.
Can I change or cancel my plan later?
Anytime from billing settings. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades take effect at the next renewal so you don’t lose paid time.

Account & support

4 questions

How do I sign in?
Email and a one-time code (or Google). No password to forget — the code lands in your inbox and signs you into the dashboard.
Is there a team or education discount?
Studio seats scale with your team. Students and educators can email support for a verified discount on Pro and Studio.
How do I get help?
Docs cover the product end to end. For account or billing issues, use support from your dashboard — Pro and Studio get faster lanes.
Do you have a roadmap?
Yes. Now, Next, and Later live on the public roadmap; what shipped is on the changelog.

Still stuck?

Docs walk through the Studio end to end. Or open a project — most answers show up faster in the product.

Free to start. Nothing to install.
