Getting started
From zero to a playable build in a few minutes — no install, no project setup.
Krida Studio runs entirely in the browser. You need an account, an idea (or a blank scene), and about a minute.
Create an account
Sign in with email and a one-time code, or continue with Google. There is no password to manage — the code lands in your inbox and drops you into the dashboard.
Start a project
From the dashboard, choose New project. You can:
- Prompt an idea (“a one-button endless runner with pixel birds”)
- Start blank and build scene by scene
Either way you land in the Studio with a project you can play immediately.
Play and iterate
Hit Play to test in the editor. Adjust sprites, behavior, and layout, then play again. Version checkpoints let you roll back if an experiment goes sideways.
Share a build
When it feels right, publish a play link and send it to playtesters. You control whether the project stays private, unlisted, or public.

Projects & the dashboard
How projects, sessions, and the workspace fit together.
Your dashboard is the home base for everything you’re building.
What lives on the dashboard
- Stats — project count, builds, plays, and storage at a glance
- Projects — drafts, live games, and archived builds, filterable by status
- Activity — recent builds and edits
- Usage — plan limits for generations, storage, and domains
Project statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|
| Draft | Work in progress — not shared publicly |
| Live | Published with a play link |
| Archived | Read-only; restore any time to edit again |
Session
Sign-in writes a mock session for this prototype. Sign out from the user menu clears it and returns you to auth. Real auth ships with the Worker API.
Naming and organizing
Rename projects from the card actions. Keep names short and specific — you’ll thank yourself when the list grows past a dozen games.
Studio
Building in Studio
Scenes, assets, behavior, and the prompt flow — without a game engine install.
The Studio is a visual workspace for 2D games. Everything the generator produces is a normal project you can open, restructure, and refine.
Prompt flow
Describe the game you want in plain language. Krida sketches scenes, sprites, and core loop. Treat the first pass as a sketch — edit freely afterward.
Good prompts name:
- Genre — platformer, top-down, puzzle, arcade
- Feel — chill, frantic, precise, chaotic
- One twist — “double jump but the second jump is a grapple”
Scenes and entities
Scenes hold entities (player, enemies, props, UI). Toggle visibility, nudge transforms, and wire behavior without leaving the canvas.
Assets
Generated art and audio sit in the project library. On paid plans you can import your own sprites, tilesets, and sounds and wire them the same way.
Behavior
Attach simple behaviors (move, chase, collect, spawn) or open the logic panel for custom rules. Code is optional — the visual path covers most prototypes.
Version history
Checkpoints save as you work. Roll back a bad change, then branch forward again. Longer history and named saves unlock on Pro and Studio.
Ship
Publishing & ownership
Share links, exports, custom domains, and who owns what you ship.
When a build is ready, get it in front of players — on your terms.
Play links
Every build gets a URL you can send to playtesters. Visibility controls:
- Private — only you
- Unlisted — anyone with the link
- Public — listed where allowed on your plan
Who owns your games
You do. Free lets you share plays of your work. Pro and Studio add commercial publishing and the option to remove Krida branding.
Exports
Web export ships first on Pro and Studio. More targets land on the roadmap. Free keeps play-and-share inside Krida.
Custom domains
Point DNS at Krida on Pro or Studio. HTTPS is handled for you — no cert babysitting.
Branding
Free builds show a small Krida mark. Paid plans can remove it so the game feels like yours alone.
Free, Pro, and Studio — what’s included and how billing works.
Start free. Upgrade when you need higher limits, exports, or a team.
What’s on each plan
- Free — account, monthly build allowance, play-and-share links
- Pro — higher limits, exports, custom domain, no Krida branding
- Studio — seats, shared libraries, roles, SSO, priority support
Full feature matrix lives on pricing.
Trial
New accounts get a 7-day Pro trial — no card. If you don’t upgrade, you drop to Free and keep your projects.
Hitting free limits
Editing, playing, and sharing continue. New generations pause until the next month or until you upgrade.
Yearly billing
Yearly bills once per year at 20% off monthly. Cancel anytime; access runs through the paid period.
Changes and cancels
Manage plans from billing settings. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades wait for the next renewal so you don’t lose paid time.
Sign-in, teams, education pricing, and where to get help.
Sign-in
Email + one-time code, or Google. Codes expire quickly; request a new one from the auth screen if you miss the window.
Teams
Studio seats scale with your team. Shared libraries and roles keep assets and permissions in one place. SSO (SAML) is available on Studio.
Education
Students and educators can email support for a verified discount on Pro and Studio.
